I purchased this keyboard as an upgrade from the previous Apple bluetooth keyboard, which I loved. Setup was easy in OSX 10.11 El Capitan- it was recognized right away by my mac. Now for the action: Typing on this keyboard is strikingly different than the last keyboard, and I must say that once my fingers got used to the new feel, I'm typing even faster than before. The keys look and feel much closer to the aluminum, yet they also feel like they press down just as much, with a light touch.
If you are a key masher, you're going to get some noise. The keys respond with very little pressure, so once I got used to that I'm just gliding from key to key. Was it worth the update? Yes, if you spend much of your day on a keyboard like I do.
Nov 20, 2018 - This is surely the easiest part of buying a Mac: picking the mouse to go with it. Apple's Magic mouse, trackpad and keyboard. It's just the same as on a laptop, it's quick and easy, it's comfortable. Feb 7, 2019 - Do you like the look of Apples Magic Keyboard but want something a little. It's the perfect solution for Mac users that need more keyboard.
Well done, Apple. I ordered this to replace the original bluetooth keyboard that came with my iMac about 4 years ago. This keyboard would be a 5-star IF it didn't lay perfectly flat. It has no flip-up legs to give an angle more comfortable and less strain on the carpal tunnel. I have attacked a 1/4' diameter wood dowel to the bottom to give it a small lift (see photo).
It now is almost level with my existing 4 year old trackpad. I suggest this simple fix to solve the only shortcoming that I see. Perhaps Apple will see this review and update the keyboard! Do you remember how the old school writers would romanticize their particular typewriter make and model? This is my version of that. Solar powered, with sufficient rechargeable battery to run 20 hours a day, for months, in darkness as you let your darkness out. Banging away at the keys with your angst and anxiety, spewing forth your inequities and insecurities, all on a single sunny day's energy.
Perfect button size, spacing and bounce. My last one was murdered by one of my sons a month ago with a glass of soda that wasn't even his.
He'll never have to wonder why he isn't going to college or in the will. He knows what he did.
A month without a k750, is like a month without a correctly spelled word in any rant. A month of wearing out the right mouse button in anger and frustration that google doesn't just 'know' what you. My fat ass cat ran across my keyboard and broke my zero key.
For over a year, I had to use my keyboard viewer and click on the zero key every time I wanted to use it, which was SUPER annoying. Anyway, I finally got the guts to try replacing it myself, because I'm a teacher so I'm too poor to pay someone else to do it. It was really not as hard as I thought, and youtube was my friend. I found a great tutorial on ifixit.com too. Added bonus, my old keyboard backlight started working again after I took my computer apart and put it back together! Now I can lesson plan in the dark!
I have a fondness for Macally products in general and keyboards in particular. I look to Macally almost exclusively for 3rd party Macintosh keyboards (and mice) since Logitech seems to have abandoned the Mac-specific market in the past couple years. Their prices are reasonable too.
I purchased this keyboard to use with the family's new Mac Mini with OS X 10.6. I have always found Macally's keyboards to provide excellent tactile feedback. I am not disappointed in this keyboard either. The keys respond very well and, unlike the Apple Wireless keyboard, it includes a number pad. It also includes the inverted 'T' arrow keys, the six keys typically found above the arrows and fifteen function keys. In addition, it has the volume up/down, mute and optical disc eject key above the numpad and alongside the function key row. Making a BlueTooth connection was simple and fast.
Waking up the mini has not. I bought this keyboard cover to help reduce the noise caused by the new keypads that are being used by Apple. It reduces the keypad noise about 40%, which is very good as far as I am concerned. I am in a profession where I do a lot of typing while people are talking. The noise of the new MacBook Pro was distracting to the talkers, and called attention to me (which I did not want). The cover does not really detract from the tactile nature of the keyboard.
It is quite thin and stays in place without needing the small adhesive strips that come with it. If you are looking for a solution to reduce some of the noise of the new MacBook Pro keyboard, you will probably find this to be of help. I work on a PC and on a Mac Pro, using a KVM switch to alternate so that I need only one keyboard, one mouse, and one monitor. This is the first keyboard I have used that is reasonably priced, quiet like an Apple keyboard (mine wore out) and lets me program the keys so that I can use the same key commands on both machines. It came with a sort of cellophane cover which can be used like a silicone condom/cover, which is good because I have not been able to find a protective cover to fit. The only real drawback is the Windows key(s), on either side of the space bar, which makes it frustrating if you have spent years using the alt/option key as an integral part of your work.
We own five of the MB110LL/B keyboards — well, three are slightly earlier models, the MB110LL/A. They are by far the best keyboard that I’ve found for Macs. I say that as someone who uses two of these keyboards every day, one with my 13” MacBook Air that I use for writing and email, and the other being a 21” iMac that I use for iTunes and photo editing with Lightroom. I’m also an excellent touch typist, routinely clocking over 90 words per minute. We purchased our most recent iteration of this keyboard in June 2015, to use with a second iMac, a 27” model that we bought second-hand. For some reason, it didn’t come with any keyboard.
The other two keyboards: My wife uses one with her MacBook Pro, and the other lives in my rollaboard suitcase for when I travel overnight. It’s too big to fit into my briefcase. Keyboard works great. Backlight lights up great.
Keys feel ok. No complaints.
Dont listen to other people complaining who dont properly install and repair this keyboard then complain its defective. Its a very tedious difficult job that you have to be very careful with all the belt cables and delicate parts. ALOT of screws. DONT mix them. Track them to exact place. Youtube is your friend.
Thats how it installed mine. Lets see how long it lasts though, but so far great buy! Satisfied customer here. Look at the pic I posted, proof it works great. Was so excited to get this to cover my newly purchase MacBook Pro 13in Retina display and it fits perfectly!
Tis' a bit of an adjustment when typing on the keyboard but thus far (and I'm using it now) it isn't stopping me from typing as usual and my speed is remaining the same. Every now and then its like 'whoa, that felt a bit weird.' But it does as its not actual contact with the keys. But the finger feel of this is super nice!
I hate having dust and random crumbs if I so choose to eat close to a computer get beneath the keys so this is absolutely perfect! Initially I thought it was hiding to much of the backlight, but in daily dim conditions its actually fine as the light is from beneath the keys not the letters/keys themselves. I tried to include some pictures of.
It feels amazing. Without question, the Laptop Pro is the best Bluetooth keyboard you can get for your Mac. Built from our, they deliver a feel that’s unmatched for comfort — without sacrificing the tactile feedback you need to type really fast. Wireless + compact.
There are several benefits that come with a compact, wireless keyboard. More free space on your desk, and no wires to clutter it. Using your mouse is more comfortable — because you don’t have to reach as far.
Easy to pack for trips. It’s narrow enough to fit in your laptop bag, making it easy to take with you. Hotel room ergonomics. If you’re working from a less-than-ergonomic hotel desk, you can type with the keyboard in your lap, for extra comfort.
Add a for your laptop, and you have a great ergonomic solution for work on the road. Really long battery life. No expense was spared to make this the best Bluetooth keyboard possible. That includes putting a much bigger battery in it than we had to — 1,600 mAh. That’s 5x to 12x bigger than what’s inside most other wireless keyboards; big enough to last 6 months to a year, on a single charge. Stays on, stays connected. Other wireless keyboards will often power down and disconnect to preserve battery life — leaving you waiting, each time they reconnect.
With its BIG battery, the Laptop Pro doesn’t need to do that. It stays on, and stays connected. This simple luxury, not having to worry about batteries, makes the Laptop Pro feel more like a wired keyboard.USB Charging Ports.
The USB ports on the Laptop Pro let you do two things. 1) Charge the keyboard. 2) Charge up to 2 other devices, while you’re charging 2) the keyboard. To charge only the keyboard, a USB port on your computer provides sufficient power (500mA or 2.5W). It takes up to 5 hours for a complete charge.
For charging multiple devices, you need more power. Apple’s gives you enough power to charge one extra device. Apple’s or a provide more than enough power to charge 2 extra devices through the keyboard. Note: The USB ports are for charging only.
Plugging a flash drive or mouse into them will have no effect. Really quiet.
Mechanical keyboards offer the best performance, but they’re noisy — too noisy to use in most offices, or around other people. This is the first one that’s quiet. Over two years in the making, it’s the only mechanical keyboard that keeps both your fingers and your co-workers happy.Click to compare. How quiet is it?
The Laptop Pro is no louder than a regular (non-mechanical) keyboard. Your co-workers probably won’t even be able to tell that you have one. To hear the difference, we made sample recordings of the Laptop Pro plus three other mechanical keyboards — our award-winning, a Cherry Blue switch keyboard, and a Cherry Brown switch keyboard. Simply click (or tap) to play/pause.
Adjust your speaker volume (if necessary). Sorry, but your browser does not support iframes. A modern Apple Extended Keyboard II. If you’re a fan of the legendary, the Laptop Pro is for you. It was the inspiration for our design, and you can feel that heritage in every keystroke.
Mac-friendly function keys. Just like an Apple keyboard, the Laptop Pro’s function keys let you control screen brightness, volume, iTunes, and more. There’s even an Fn key, that lets you momentarily change the function keys back to their traditional duties, when you need them. Also connects to iPad & Android tablets, PCs, and other Bluetooth devices. We designed the keyboard to connect wirelessly to your Mac, but it’s actually a standard Bluetooth connection, so it’ll work with any device that supports Bluetooth keyboards.
That includes. Macs, PCs, the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch, Android 3.0+ smartphones and tablets, Samsung Galaxy Tab, BlackBerry PlayBook, and many more. When connected to a PC, the position of the Alt and Win keys are swapped. ™ € £ © are easy to find.
Extra handy (but hard to remember) symbols are printed right on the keys. Simply hold down the Option key for the bottom-right characters, or Shift-Option for top-right characters. Laser etched keys. All those symbols are handy, but what happens when they wear off? They’re laser etched — burned into the keys with a laser — so they’ll never wear off. Sculpted keytops. The latest trend in keyboards is to have very flat & wide keys, with little or no space between them.
You see this a lot on laptops and netbooks. While they look great, they can also be a little tricky to type on. The flatness makes it very easy to slide out of home row and lose your bearings. The Laptop Pro bucks this trend. It has traditional sculpted keytops, curved to fit your fingertips, and keep you from sliding out of home position. No ghost in this machine. Most keyboards allow only a few keys to be pressed at once, so they can’t keep up with very fast typists.
The result is called ghosting — letters missing from what you actually typed, or additional letters that you didn’t type. The Laptop Pro has special Anti-Ghosting Circuitry (also called n-key rollover) to eliminate these problems. You can type as fast as you’re able; the Laptop Pro will keep up.
